Campus may be quiet, but you’ve been working all summer to get things ready to greet a new class of first years and welcome back the staff, faculty and upper classes for another New England fall semester. We know you’ve been checking priorities off your list but there may be a few items still to address.

This is a busy time and many of our customers in the education sector count on us to help them with the unforeseen needs that crop up. For example, have there been changes on campus like repurposing space or opening a new building where perhaps ensuring reliable cell reception has not been addressed? What about wireless access? We all know how important connectivity is for students. We can address those open items for you.

Cell Reception

Ensuring that all areas of the campus have reliable cellular reception is critical for safety as well as productivity for staff, faculty and students. Of course the ability to send and receive calls and texts is baked in to the mindset of current college students who have never known a world without smart phones, but keeping up on social media or making study plans with classmates are the least important reasons to be connected. Being able to receive campus-wide safety alerts or the ability to make an emergency call are paramount for everyone’s safety. Wireless Access

Similarly, wireless access points need to provide full coverage within buildings across your campus. If you have renovated or repurposed a building you may need the wireless access points moved, need additional ones, or need to replace some. As an example, if areas had previously been open space and now renovations have added walls (perhaps for faculty offices or student study space) your existing wireless access points may not provide enough coverage. Access to the campus network is key for everyone on campus.

With over 40 years helping campuses prepare for students to return, KTS has the knowledge and expertise to help you get these issues resolved quickly before the students, staff and faculty arrive to begin the new semester. Contact us.
