Elder Living Community Relies on KTS to Upgrade Video Signage in Multiple Facilities

The Situation
A Senior Living company with locations throughout the northeast wanted digital signage installed at 11 of their Massachusetts facilities. The general contractor reached out to KTS to handle the installation.
The Work
KTS was engaged to wire and install multiple televisions in each of the 11 locations from Agawam to Woburn, MA. These televisions will be used as communication hubs for residents, staff and families to inform on upcoming activities, menus and other notices helpful for everyone connected to the facility. In addition, KTS was also installing small signage computers at the back of each television; these are used to hold the data that is displayed and the facilities’ central help desk can remotely change the messaging as needed. An average of three televisions were installed in each facility in the lobbies and memory care areas.
KTS worked with the company’s management team to develop an efficient and logical schedule across all locations. They also coordinated the schedule with the electrical contractor so they would be at each site at the same time as KTS so they could work in tandem and leave each site with the work fully completed.
KTS then completed the work, adhering to the agreed upon schedule to minimize disruption to residents and staff and deliver on time and on budget.
Challenges
It was neither practical nor cost effective for KTS to tour each senior living facility to familiarize themselves with each location prior to completing the work. They leveraged facility photos where available, but were prepared for any structural variations that could affect the work. They arrived at each facility with equipment needed to address any situation that might arise for this type of work so they were ready to get to work without any unnecessary delays.
Benefits/Impact
All eleven facilities were upgraded, wired, tested and operational in less than a month, with the TVs serving as the important communications hub for residents, staff and family. The facilities’ owners were delighted with the quality of the work, the efficient use of time and resources and KTS’ attention to leaving a clean facility in each and every location.
